Pricing Quick Look

Liz created this handy pricing sheet to help you understand how the pricing breakdown works with our special room rates. The Single column indicates only one person in the room; the Double rate is for a double-occupancy (two people) staying in one room.

* Please note: The minimum requirement to get the room rate is only 3 nights; but the graphic Liz created is for 4 nights.

Distance and Drive from Cancún International Airport

Ground transportation provided by the Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort will be included in your travel.

You will receive detailed information on who to look for when exiting the airport (there will be lots of shuttles for all resorts in the area, so practice caution when anyone approaches you for a ride and ONLY accept the ride from your designated Dreams Riviera Cancún shuttle. This is best practice for any Mexico vacation for those who are new to international travel.)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code? +

We're calling it Beach Formal — think elegant, lightweight, and coastal-chic.

For women: A midi or maxi length dress in a lightweight, breathable fabric is ideal — it will be warm! The ceremony takes place on pavement just beside the beach, so heels are fine. That said, if you plan to walk near the sand at any point during the evening, opt for a block heel or wedge just to be safe.

For men: A suit or dress pants with a blazer in a lightweight, breathable fabric suited for a coastal environment. No flip-flops or overly casual beach attire, please!

Is there a color palette guests should follow or avoid? +

Please avoid wearing white, off-white, or beige to avoid clashing with the wedding party and bride. We'd also ask guests to steer clear of neon or overly bright colors, and solid black for the daytime ceremony as it absorbs a lot of heat in the Cancún sun!

Instead, we love the idea of guests in lighter colors, soft pastels, or jewel tones that complement a coastal, upscale setting. Think dusty rose, sage, champagne, cobalt, or coral — anything that feels elegant and vacation-ready. ♡

Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors? +

The ceremony will be held outdoors at the Grand Lobby Staircase venue, located just outside the main lobby building at the Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa. Guests will be seated for the ceremony, which begins at 5:00pm on Saturday, January 16th, 2027.

Are children welcome at the wedding? +

Yes, children are absolutely welcome! If you'd like a night to yourselves to fully enjoy the celebration, the Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort offers trained babysitting services that can be arranged for the hours of the wedding events. It's a wonderful option worth considering — just coordinate with the resort in advance.

Do guests need a passport to travel to Mexico? +

Yes — a valid U.S. Passport is mandatory for entry into Mexico by air. A Real ID driver's license alone will not allow you to board an international flight. Please make sure your passport is valid and up to date well in advance of January 2027!

What airport should guests fly into? +

Fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN). The Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa is just a 22-minute complimentary shuttle ride from the airport — and transportation is included with your reservation. Our booking specialist Lina Contreras will follow up with you prior to your travel to arrange your shuttle time and provide further instructions.

Any travel tips for first-time visitors to Mexico? +

Transportation: Do not accept rides from random taxi drivers at the airport. Your shuttle will be pre-arranged through your booking with Destination Weddings — look for your designated Dreams Riviera Cancún shuttle only. Lina will reach out before your trip with all the details.

Tipping: Service workers at the resort rely on tips. We recommend bringing small denominations of cash (USD is widely accepted) to tip for drink and food service throughout your stay. All meals, drinks, room service and minibar are included in your all-inclusive package — tips are simply a kind gesture on top of that.

Sunscreen: Buy your sunscreen before you leave home. Hotel and resort shops in Mexico charge a significant premium, so stock up on your favorites before you go!

Is the resort all-inclusive? +

Yes! Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa is a fully all-inclusive resort. Your room rate includes unlimited meals at all resort restaurants, top-shelf drinks, 24-hour room service, an in-room minibar restocked daily, and resort entertainment — all included in the base price of your room. It's truly a worry-free experience once you arrive. ♡

Can guests arrive before Friday or stay after Sunday? +

Absolutely! You're welcome to extend your trip in either direction and still take advantage of our special group room block rates. If you're planning a stay longer than 7 days, we'd recommend coordinating directly with our booking specialist Lina Contreras — her contact information is available on the booking page. Make a vacation of it!

Is there a room block rate for single occupancy guests? +

Yes! Our room block includes pricing for both single occupancy (one person per room) and double occupancy (two people sharing a room). Liz put together a handy pricing guide on this page that breaks down the cost for both options across different room types — scroll up to the Pricing Quick Look section to view it!

What is the RSVP deadline? +

Please RSVP by August 1st, 2026 so we can get a headcount ahead of the room booking cutoff. You have until August 31st, 2026 to finalize your room reservation — but we'd love to hear from you sooner!

If you need a little extra time for any reason, just reach out to Liz or John directly and we'll do our best to accommodate. ♡

Can guests bring a plus one? +

Yes! Please let us know in your RSVP if you plan to bring a guest who is not part of your immediate family. We would love to welcome everyone — however we do have a guest cap, so the sooner you let us know the better. There is a plus one field right on the RSVP form for you to fill out!

What if I have dietary restrictions? +

No problem at all! You can list your dietary restrictions directly on your RSVP and we will coordinate with the resort to ensure your needs are handled respectfully and safely. If you have a severe allergy or complex dietary need, feel free to also email us directly at liz.designs2025@gmail.com so we can give it extra attention.

Is Mexico safe to visit? +

Yes! The Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa is a heavily gated and guarded resort, and the Cancún hotel zone is visited safely by millions of tourists every year. As with any international travel, we always recommend being aware of your surroundings — particularly if you venture outside the resort to explore the area.

Stick with your group, use pre-arranged transportation, and you'll have an incredible and safe experience. We wouldn't be hosting our wedding here if we didn't feel completely confident in that! ♡

What is the weather like in January? +

January in Cancún is absolutely ideal — it's one of the best times of year to visit! Expect warm, sunny days with average highs around 83°F and comfortable cooler evenings in the 63–67°F range. January is one of the driest months with minimal rainfall and about 6–9 hours of daily sunshine.

We'd recommend packing a light wrap or jacket for the evening reception on the beach, as the ocean breeze can feel refreshing after sunset. Perfect wedding weather! ☀️

What activities are available at the resort or nearby? +

The Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa has an incredible range of on-site activities including pools, a world-class spa, beach access, watersports, and multiple restaurants and bars. For a full list of resort activities, visit the resort's official activities page.

Nearby, some of our personal favorites include:

🤿 Snorkeling & diving in the Mesoamerican Reef — the second largest reef in the world
🏊 Cenote swimming — natural sinkholes unique to the Yucatán Peninsula, an absolute must-do
🏛️ Tulum ruins — a stunning ancient Mayan site about 1.5 hours south
🏝️ Isla Mujeres — a charming island accessible by a short ferry ride
🌿 Xcaret or Xel-Há eco parks — incredible full-day experiences
🍽️ Puerto Morelos town center — a charming, walkable village with great local restaurants just minutes from the resort

What is the difference between Preferred and Premium when I am booking my room? +

Premium level rooms are the base level package – but still wonderful. You will have access to all resort amenities, all standard dining restaurants, and your mini-bar will be refreshed daily.

Preferred level rooms are a step up — premium location rooms, upgraded selection of beer, liquor and snacks, access to a Preferred Club Lounge, and increased service throughout the resort. It's a great option – John and I usually go for this one!

How does the Travel Protection Plan (TPP) work versus non-TPP? +

The Travel Protection Plan (TPP) offers flexible cancellation (cancel for any reason) and travel credit for hurricanes, whereas regular bookings usually restrict refunds to only specific, documented emergencies.

Regardless of how you choose to pay (TPP or without), you only need to pay a $100 per-room deposit + insurance if selected. 100% (full) payment is required for guests with NO Travel Protection by 9/2/2026. Guests who choose the TPP option need only pay 50% of the total cost by 9/2/2026, and the remainder upon check-in.

After confirming the room, all guests will receive their invoice and can pay any amount as they go by accessing the same electronic invoice and making payments of any amount. You can also just pay the entirety of your invoice at the final date of payment.

At final payment you can use any credit card or utilize the Affirm payment option which is a "Buy Now, Pay Later" with smaller payment installments.
